Description
A hidden world of shadows and secrets, Tund once teemed with thick-leafed vines and hard-shelled arthropods, but now is a lifeless, irradiated scar. As far back as 28,000 BBY, following the liberation of the Sith species from Rakata slavemasters, Tund became a place of exile for Sith heretics. The planet's remoteness from the Sith Empire suggests that the vessel that first carried the exiles employed a Rakatan hyperdrive, and found Tund by zeroing in on a world with a strong Force signature.
Pure-blooded Sith inhabited Tund for millennia, with Sith-human hybrids arriving on the world after the Dark Jedi conquest of Sith space in 6900 BBY. Tund escaped the devastation visited on other Sith worlds following the Great Hyperspace War, and a unique sect of dark side Force-users eventually came into existence—the Sorcerers of Tund.
In 15 BBY a pulse of cosmic unrest struck nearby Toong'l, poisoning half of Tund. Many Toong refugees settled on Tund, grateful for its deep jungles and low population count. The reclusive Sorcerers, however, didn't warm to their new neighbors, and reports of Toong persecution filtered out to the Republic Senate. Palpatine encouraged the public perception of the Sorcerers as self-important charlatans while his agents scoured the world for secrets of the pure Sith.
Tund's final day occurred sometime in 5 BBY, when Rokur Gepta—a tiny, snail-like Croke capable of projecting illusions—infiltrated the Sorcerers' ranks and stole their dark side lore. Gepta then wiped out his perceived competition, killing every living being on Tund with a mysterious "green fire" contained within an electromagnetic torpedo.
