Introduction to the Naritus Server in Star Wars Galaxies (SWG)

The Naritus server was one of the original servers in Star Wars Galaxies (SWG), an MMORPG developed by Sony Online Entertainment. Named after a Mon Calamari cruiser from the Star Wars universe, Naritus held a significant place in the game's community, particularly among players located on the US West Coast.

Naritus was known for its tight-knit and vibrant community, which was one of the most active during the early days of SWG. It fostered a sense of camaraderie among players, who often engaged in large-scale player-versus-player (PvP) battles, deep crafting systems, and community events. The server had a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and a wide variety of player-run establishments, such as the famous "Troll's Guns & Ammo" shop in Coronet.

However, like many other SWG servers, Naritus experienced a decline in population after the controversial Combat Upgrade (CU) and the New Game Enhancements (NGE) that changed the fundamental gameplay. Despite this, the legacy of the Naritus server lives on in the memories of its players, who recall it as a place where the community thrived and lasting friendships were formed.
